Belize 2017: Cotton Tree Lodge - Leafwing butterfly caterpillar (Nymphalidae: Charaxinae: Prepona sp. or Agrias sp.). Sometimes, when I come across such an effort at mimicry or camouflage I like to look around to see if I can find an example of the subject being imitated. In this case I found suitable dead leaf hanging only a few feet away. They were very similar in size, colour and shape, and I think they make a nice set.
